Habib Bank Limited Introduction: 

Habib Bank Plaza in Karachi, Pakistan is home to the international bank Habib Bank Limited's (HBL) head headquarters. The initial commercial banking institution in Pakistan, HBL, was founded in 1940 by the Habib family. It established its first overseas location in 1951 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

The Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development (AKFED), situated in Geneva, Switzerland, is largely owned by HBL. The bank relocated its headquarters to South Asia's tallest structure, Habib Bank Plaza, in 1972. The bank was taken over by the government in 1974 and then privatized in 2003.

HBL has more than 1700 branches in 25 countries on four continents as of 2018. In terms of assets, it is the biggest corporation in Pakistan and is consistently named the best Pakistani business in Forbes Global 2000. With more than 1,700 branches, it is also Pakistan's biggest commercial bank. HBL employs 20,795 people permanently as of 2020.
